What is the City doing with the temporary drought recovery surcharge money?
The temporary drought recovery surcharge will continue to fund the maintenance of the City’s water system. These maintenance costs are fixed costs that do not decrease as less water is used. Because of declining water sales, revenues no longer fully fund these necessary maintenance costs.
