Station Libraries

An important element of professional development is the opportunity to access reference materials that promotes learning, reinforces job knowledge, and provides manipulative skill instruction. The Poway Fire Department has established a library of books and reference materials at each fire station. The Station Library consists of up-to-date, pertinent items that will assist with individual development and company training activities. Books within the Station Library include, but are not limited to, job-specific instruction manuals, department policy and procedure documents, response reference guides, and information regarding leadership qualities and management techniques. The Station Library is a standardized inventory of materials located at each fire station. That is, the items at 1 station are the same at all other stations.
