Kumeyaay-Ipai Interpretive Center at Pauwai

PLEASE NOTE: We will be closed on Saturday, September 8 for the Poway Days Parade and will re-open at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 22.

A thriving community of Native Americans populated Pauwai long before the Spanish arrived. The evidence of their lives and work can be seen today at the Kumeyaay-Ipai Interpretive Center, founded by a partnership with the
Friends of the Kumeyaay, the San Pasqual Band of Indians, and the City of Poway.

Take a guided tour of this archaeological site where you will experience artifacts, ‘ewaas, and a milling and grinding station.
